What is sayTEXT - Audio Text Messaging? (back to top)
Audio Text Messaging is similar to text messaging. In addition to sending
a text message to a friend's cell phone, you are also recording a personal
audio message to send. The recipient of your audio text message will
receive a text message that says that they have a new audio message
and to listen press SEND or DIAL 877- sayTEXT.
You can listen to the audio message and then reply or send a message
to someone else.
Who can use sayTEXT? (back to top)
In order to use sayTEXT, you must have an SMS-enabled
(text messaging-enabled) cell phone that is with one of the following
providers: Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile or Sprint. It is not required
that you are a uReach.com subscriber to use sayTEXT.
How do I listen to an Audio Text Message?
Some cell phone providers provide a "call back list" which
will enable you to click "SEND" or "CALL" to dial
into the sayTEXT system and listen to your audio text message. If this
function does not work for you, then simply dial 877-SAY-TEXT (877-729-8398)
to listen to your audio text message. You can only listen to your messages
by dialing in from your cell phone by either of these methods.
How do I send an Audio Text Message?
Dial 877-SAY-TEXT (877-729-8398), press 2, then 1. Enter the
10-digit cell phone number of the person to whom you're sending the
message, speak your message and press #. Hang up, or press 1 to confirm
your message.
Who can I send messages to?
You can send messages to any Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile or Cingular
wireless subscriber, even if they have not registered to use sayTEXT.
They can listen to your message, and then they can send messages to anyone, too.
How can I activate my account?
You can activate your sayTEXT account at www.saytext.net.
Am I charged for this service by my cellular service provider?
Your normal cellular airtime and text messaging charges apply.
Are there any surcharges for using Cool Clips?
No, using Cool Clips is completely FREE!
Is my cellular provider supported?
sayTEXT
supports the following cellular providers: Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile
and Cingular. Your cell phone must have SMS-capability (text messaging).
Can I send messages to people that have cell phones outside of the US?
sayTEXT supports Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and
Cingular in the continental United States only.
How do I know if my phone has text messaging
(or is SMS-enabled)? (back to
top)
Check with your cellular provider to find out if your cell phone can
send and receive text messages. This function is required in order to
use sayTEXT.
Why do I have to place a call to listen to
my audio text messages? (back
to top)
The requirement that you must place a call to listen to your audio messages
is not our preferred method of implementation of this service. However,
in order to demonstrate the power of the sayTEXT
service across as many cellular providers and cell phones as possible, we had to make this requirement.
Why can't I connect to the 877-SAY-TEXT system
and listen to my audio messages? (back
to top)
If you have a "smart phone" that highlights all telephone
numbers received in text messages, your phone may be "calling back"
a number other than the sayTEXT
toll free number. If this occurs, make sure that you have highlighted
877-729-8398 before pressing the "Send" or "Call"
key. If you are still unable to connect, please dial that
number directly from your cell phone.
I can't send messages to some people even
when I know I have their number right. What's going on?
(back
to top)
If you receive a message from the service indicating that the "message cannot be delivered as addressed", check that you entered the correct cell number. If the problem persists it may be because we can't resolve which cellular provider the recipient is using. Just ask your recipient to join the trial by entering their cell phone and provider at www.saytext.net.
